The Drum FReeZA Team 2023

Looking for an opportunity to grow your skills & connect with a team of like-minded young people?

FReeZA is a free event management program for people aged 15-25 who are looking to contribute to their community by planning live music and cultural events throughout the year. As part of the program, you will get practical experience organizing events (booking activities, run sheets, promotion, risk assessments, etc) and staffing the events too (set up/pack down, food service, stage management, etc).

Through your involvement with FReeZA, you will receive a range of free training (including AV basics from a professional technician, music industry knowledge, first aid training etc), practical life skills (email writing, chairing/minute taking, teamwork, planning, etc), as well as the opportunity for paid work at events.

At the end of your involvement with the program, you will be given a certificate to use in future job/education applications, as well as ongoing support to get linked in with any pathways you wish to pursue.

Meetings:

FReeZA meetings take place once a month (with occasional fortnightly sessions) on Wednesdays from 4.30-6.30pm at the Kathleen Syme Community Centre in Carlton. Snacks are provided at all meetings.
