Youth Homelessness Podcast

The Drum Youth Services is very excited to announce the launch of our Youth Homelessness Podcast!

About the Youth Homelessness Podcast

The Youth Homelessness Podcast is a unique break-through podcast using the peer-led model to amplify the voices of youth homelessness experts, who are young people that have experiences with homelessness. Youth homelessness experts speaking on this podcast share their insight into the experiences of young people who have experience with homelessness, how service providers could better support homeless young people and how to address some of the inter-sectional marganlisation experienced by many homeless youth.

The Youth Homeless Podcast aims providing an easily accessible platform to the voices of young youth homeless experts who have experienced youth homelessness. This podcast illuminates how service providers could better support homeless young people and addresses some of the inter-sectional marginalization experienced by many homeless youth.

The Youth Homeless Podcast addresses the lack of platform given to homeless youth through using the powerful authentic voices and lived experiences of homeless young people. The podcast offers a critique of current support (or often lack of support) available to young people and discusses improvements that could be made to the available services. The podcast also addresses the discrimination based on diversity that contributes to youth homelessness such as family and even services not being accepting of individuals LGBTIQ+ identity.
